Pacifiers For Breastfed Babies: 4 Things To Consider

Using pacifiers for breastfed babies is a fairly common practice, and we're here to share our top factors to consider when beginning to use pacifiers for breastfed babies. But first, a little on our product safety.

Pacifiers For Breastfed Babies: Product Safety

Our plush mascot pacifiers are cute, yes, and while making sure our pacifiers look just like their original mascots was a huge factor in the creative process, safety truly was and continues to be our top priority.

When it comes to safety, we made sure to create each plush pacifier in accordance with the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). All of our products are made with high quality and safe materials, and they are thoroughly tested. Gamezies pacifiers are free of BPA, lead and phthalates. The easy to attach pacifiers are made with medical-grade, latex-free silicone.

4 Things To Consider When Using Pacifiers For Breastfed Babies

You can trust us to provide you with a safe and reliable product, but we also want to make sure we provide quality information to guide you as you introduce pacifiers to your babies.

When using pacifiers for breastfed babies, here are four important things to remember.

1. Never use a pacifier to hold the baby off longer between feedings. Do your best to keep baby on a schedule, avoiding the pacifier as a substitute.

2.  Babies who take a pacifier may wean earlier than those who don't. Babies who use a pacifier are getting that need to suck met with something other than the breast, so they may give up breastfeeding sooner.

3. Latex allergies are increasingly common. Opt for a silicone pacifier instead. Our Gamezies plush pacifiers are made with latex-free silicone.

4. Prolonged pacifier use can result in teeth misalignment, and sometimes using a pacifier can shape the soft palate to speech problems. Be sure to keep an eye on the time when using pacifiers for your baby.

We recommend talking to your doctor first about best practices when using pacifiers for breastfed babies. These are merely some factors to consider as you begin to introduce a pacifier to your baby.
